We have designed this section to explain our rebuild process from beginning to end.
After reading it you will be able make the best decisions regarding the options and
modifications you want to incorporate into your rebuild project.
The first step of the rebuild process is to determine what airplane will be rebuilt.
We deal primarily with PA-18 Super Cubs. If you don't yet have a Super Cub to rebuild
it is very likely that we have one that will fit your needs.
A qualified rebuild candidate is a high time, tired Super Cub. If you provide the
airplane to be rebuilt, a few important requirements must be met. All of the pieces
must be present, there must be no structural damage, and the engine must be in airworthy
condition. Prior to signing the rebuild agreement, we will inspect the airplane with you
to ensure that all the pieces are present and that there are no discrepancies.
Occasionally we are asked to rebuild an airplane with many missing parts or that has
severe structural damage. In such cases the damaged parts will be repaired or suitable
replacements will be found. Repairs and replacements will be charged at our normal shop
rate for time and materials.
Assuming your airplane meets our entrance requirements, everything you need for a trophy
winning airplane is included in our rebuild package on the Standard
Features page, the Pricing & Options page and on the
Warranty page. The Standard Features list
details the procedures and calls out the parts that your airplane will be assembled with.
Every application calls for a different combination of options and equipment. Since Super Cubs
are good in a number of different applications, we have compiled a comprehensive list of our
modifications for you to choose from. Whether you need features or functionality we have the
perfect combination of equipment for you. Our Pricing & Options
follows the Standard Features list
and deserves your careful attention. It is essential to decide on the options up front to
facilitate an efficient rebuild. These options carry no hidden surprises, they are simply
billed at the rate listed.
Once you have chosen the options, you're on the home stretch! You will have to check with one of our
salespeople to confirm the date we will start your project and when you can expect delivery of your
airplane. Most projects are finished in 8-10 weeks. We need a deposit to secure your place in our busy
schedule. The deposit will be the greater of $20,000 or 30% of your total estimated bill. All deposits
are due with your order.
